As part of the Ridges & Furrows project we have worked with communities in some of the towns and villages along the Lincolnshire Edge, to explore their heritage and celebrate what makes each location distinct.
In 2016-17 we further explored the heritage of North Hykeham, Welbourn and Waddington, delivering a range of activities that culminated in three large scale community festivals; the Welbourn Horkey, the North Hykeham Winter Haecca and the Waddington Celebration – Portraits & Places.
We are also creating heritage trails in Welbourn, Waddignton and North Hykeham. The Welbourn Trail guide is already available, the Waddington Trail guide will be launched in July, and the North Hykeham Trail guide will be ready later this year.
Working with Waddington Parish Council, we have also commissioned artist duo Grennan & Sperandio to create six permanent artworks located on the village’s heritage trail that are inspired by stories and historical tales from Waddington’s history.
Follow the links on the right to discover more about each of the locations, including historical information, oral reminiscence from people who live there, and the artworks that have been created for the project.
