The Ridges & Furrows Arts & Heritage Trail, is a 30 mile trail running along the Lincoln Edge in North Kesteven between Sleaford and Whisby Nature Park . The route picks up on many existing Stepping Out Walks and includes sections of the Viking Way. It mirrors the Spires & Steeples trail on the other side of the district.
The route is available on the free iFootpath app and website where it is split into four sections:
The trail visits the following places, starting (or ending) in Sleaford at The National Centre of Craft & Design:
- South Rauceby
- North Rauceby (signposting to Cranwell Aviation Heritage Museum)
- Temple Bruer (including the Knight’s Templar Preceptory)
- Welbourn, Wellingore
- Navenby (sign posting to Mrs Smith’s Cottage)
- Boothby Graffoe
- North Hykeham – Terry O’Toole Theatre at the OneNK Centre
The trail continues on to Whisby Nature Reserve, where there is plenty of parking and other facilities at Whisby Natural World Centre.
