Arts & Heritage

Locations

As part of the Ridges & Furrows project we have worked with communities in some of the towns and villages along the Lincoln Edge, to explore their heritage and celebrate what makes each location distinct.

The project started in 2015 with initial artist residencies in North Hykeham, Waddington, Welbourn and Sleaford.

In 2016-17 we further explored the heritage of North Hykeham, Welbourn and Waddington, delivering a range of activities that culminated in three large scale community festivals; the Welbourn Horkey, the North Hykeham Winter Haecca and the Waddington Celebration – Portraits & Places.

We have also developed Heritage Trails in Welbourn, and Waddington are are currently working on a trail guide for North Hykeham. Working with Waddington Parish Council, we also commissioned artist duo Grennan & Sperandio to create six permanent artworks located on the village’s heritage trail.

Follow the links on the right/below to discover more about each of the locations, including historical information, oral reminiscence from people who live there, and the artworks that have been created for the project.
